On a hot summer day, the windows of the basilica of the national shrine of the immaculate conception are always open. If you are planning to take in the sights of the basilica from the ground floor, you will have to exit up one floor and make your way down to the second floor where the mass is going on. On a less busy day, the basilica is open to visitors every day of the week except on Saturdays when the masses are canceled due to religious reasons. No matter what day of the week it may be, there are always many people gathering in the basilica to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day. March is when the main masses are held.

On a hot and humid morning, the first thing that you will notice about the basilica is the aroma of sweet and delicious freshly baked bread. There are several small squares of wooden mosaic tile which have been placed here and there to form a carpet of sorts. On these squares of wood are painted pictures of flowers and fruits and a mosaic floral design that represents all the different flavors of life. On each of these squares of wood, an icon of some sort is imprinted. It may be a depiction of a Madonna or a Virgin, or perhaps a depiction of a Jesus figure.

Moving along from the basilica towards the main entrance, we find a long line of people filing in through the main doors which lead straight up to the main plaza where the statue of Our Lady of Rosary stands. The Immaculate Conception basilica is made of marble and is also surrounded by a high and vaulted dome. This dome has an iron crown above it and on top of this is a glass dome that protects and glitters the basilica. On top of this crown is the statue of Our Lady of Rosary. At the end of this line of guards is another smaller dome, which is shaped like an hourglass and housing twelve large stained glass windows.

The basilica also houses some beautiful chapels of different types. Most of these chapels contain paintings of Saints and have intricate carvings on their front facades. There are also many small chapels that contain paintings of angels and are dedicated to some of the most popular Saints. Some of these have great upper church decorations with exquisite carvings on the domes.

One of the most striking features of the basilica of the Immaculate Conceptions is its arrangement of the interior spaces. The mosaics here are arranged in such a way that they appear to flow over each other without the use of lines. In addition, all the pieces are laid out in such a way that the entire area looks as though it is connected by a single continuous wall. In addition to these interior features, there are also several exterior decorations. These consist of various street lamps, street statues, monumental sculptures, large banners, and large banners of both Spanish and English languages.

The interior of this great Catholic shrine has all the trappings of a true cathedral. The mosaics here are of great complexity and are made of a variety of textures and materials. The colors used are always rich and vibrant. The furniture and tapestry covering are all created with gold and silver thread. The gold and silver colors are done in such a way that they resemble the patina which is usually seen in many old churches. All these features make the basilica of the immaculate conception a sight to behold for people of faith.
