The MTV Movie and TV Awards which is formerly known as the MTV Video Music Awards is a film and television awards show presented annually by MTV. Viacom CBS Domestic Media Networks is the Parent organization of MTV.
The first MTV Video Music Awards ceremony was held in 1984 at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall. The Cars won the inaugural video of the year award in 1984 for “You Might Think.” And it was the MTV Video Music Awards. The ceremonies are normally held in either New York City or Los Angeles. However, the ceremonies have also been hosted in Miami and Las Vegas.
